BRUCE POWER INC. - BRUCE NUCLEAR POWER STATIONS

About This Organization

Bruce Power operates the world’s largest operating nuclear generating facility and is the source of roughly 30 per cent of Ontario, Canada’s electricity.

Formed in 2001, Bruce Power is an all-Canadian partnership among TransCanada, Borealis Infrastructure Management (a division of the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System) as well as the Power Workers’ Union and Society of Energy Professionals. A majority of Bruce Power’s employees are also owners in the business.

This site, located on the shores of Lake Huron about three hours northwest of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The site consists of two four-unit power plants of CANDU design known as Bruce A and Bruce B.

The units at Bruce A are rated at 800 mw and the Units at Bruce B are rated at 900 MW.

The Power Workers Union (PWU) operates a training school facility adjacent to the site. For more information about this facility visit btsc.ca
